none of my last 10+ years would exist.

No international career extension.

No playing into my 40s and 50s.

No getting paid to coach at the highest levels.

No working with professional teams.

No Chinese National Team access.

No touring Asia.

No seeing the world from inside the game.

None of it.

Here’s How Unromantic It Really Was

I didn’t have a master plan.

I thought about it on Monday.

I was on a plane by Friday.

No certainty.

No guarantees.

No safety net.

I didn’t know where I was going.

I just knew staying still was worse than moving blind.

That was the leap.

Plans failed.

Money disappeared.

Confidence got tested.

I’m still standing.

They created the stories, the memories, the wisdom, the perspective.

You don’t regret the leaps.
